Turning
Carbon into Gold (Global Warming)
The topics of the musical cover: global warming,
climate change, renewable energy, energy
efficiency and conservation. It is
informative and, at the same time, lots of
fun...It features (as "hero") the environmental scientist Dr.
William Wannaknow who, with the help of his colleague
and friend Professor Burt Curiosity, finds a way to
upset the dastardly plot of none other than the
notorious Desmond D. Dippledoodle. The story takes
place on the fictitious Sandwalk Island in the Pacific
Ocean. Lots of characters and creative opportunities
for different parts of a school to join forces.

planning ways to get the gold which he believes

a scheme to collect plastics from passing ships
for big money and sinking them in wooden crates
out in the Pacific Ocean. Why do we need
more rubbish floating around in the ...

show "The whole Truth and nothing but the Truth
or Else!" which is currently television's most
popular program. Santa has asked Bobby if he
could come on to the show to "tell the truth"
about his concerns on "global warming". Many

Hickory's
Trickery
(Halloween Musical)
Mr. Hickory starts to read his elementary class
a pleasant Halloween story called "Wendy, the
friendly Witch." Bored with the same old story
every year since they can remember, Emily
interrupts Mr. Hickory's lesson with a request
for the class to hear a "true story" her
grandmother told her. It's about a dragon living
in Dark Hole Cave at the foot of Old Fool's
Hill. Apparently, the dragon had often been seen
around Halloween...

Turning Carbon into Gold comes from
Daniel Laubacher's
school musical of the same name. It is a song about
using CO2 for the benefit of the Earth ("to feed the
plants"). From the
Musical of
the same name. |

If we don't play by her (Mother Nature's) Rules is one
of the songs from
Daniel Laubacher's school musical
Turning Carbon into
Gold. It is clearly a message to all of humankind that
we are taking advantage of Mother Nature (who is in a
position to "make our lives a blur..."). |

Christmas in Santa's Village is the final song of
Daniel Laubacher's musical

It is a jolly song with lots of room for interpretation.

Our Circus World is a fun circus song which can be
sung in a variety of situations. I wrote this for the "grand
finale" of a project week about the circus. We organised the
children in mixed age groups and the song came over very
well. This version is for three-part choir, piano and guitar
chords. |
